Please be advised that the Electrician Certification Unit does not schedule your exam for you.
Schedule appointment: After you have registered with the Electrician Certification Unit, you may schedule your exam with PSI at www.psiexams.com or call 800-733-9267. The “Candidate Information Bulletin” is an additional information guide for testing. You may download the booklet from PSI’s website.
Social Security Administration Employment History Report is required when filling out the Application for Examination and Certification form as proof of employment. Social Security Administration may charge a fee for this report. You may obtain Form SSA-7050-F4 with an included fee schedule.
Note: If you worked in a job that was not covered by Social Security, some federal, state, or local government employment, for example, those earnings will not be shown on your Detailed Statement of Earnings.
If you fail the exam, you must complete the exam re-test application.
If your test was taken in the year 2006 or prior you must renew your license by the month and date 2009.
You must have worked 2,000 hours in the industry in the past 3 years.
You must have 32 hours of further electrical education.
Mail your renewal application, certificate of completion proving 32 hours further education and check for $100 dollars at least 30 days prior to expiration.
It is recommended that you mail your application via certified mail with return-receipt to ensure delivery.
If your license expires you will have to retake the examination.
